The Left Hand kachina, carved in wood and hand-painted by Milton Howard, a master kachina carver born in Tuba City, Arizona, on the Navajo-Hopi reservation. An eagle alights with wings swept high on the dancer’s upraised fist, while the dark-haired, red-eared mask shows a protruding tongue and the other hand holds a feather; the whole scene rises from a base carved with miniature pueblo dwellings.
Stands 17″ tall including the base.
