Sunrise Jewelry & Gallery
Our Story
Old Town Scottsdale, since the 1990s.
Every morning since the 1990s, the sun has come up over Main Street and found us here — a jewelry store and gallery in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, doing the same thing we did the day we opened: putting authentic Native American art into the hands of people who will love it.
Sunrise opened its doors on Main Street in the 1990s. In 2006, our family took over the store — and we have run it the same way ever since: open seven days a week, one hand-picked piece at a time.
From the Source
Sourced across the Southwest
The pieces in our cases don’t come from a catalog. They come from the Southwest itself — from trips across Arizona and New Mexico, from trading relationships built over years, and from artists whose work we’ve come to know the way you know a friend’s handwriting.
We still source the way this store always has — traveling across Arizona and New Mexico, buying directly where we can, and keeping trading relationships that go back many years.
That’s how a store ends up with cases that hold White Buffalo and classic turquoise, Old Pawn pieces with real history behind them, and signed contemporary work by Navajo and Zuni artists — names like Calvin Begay, Effie Calavaza, and Dickie & Amy Quandelacy — alongside Southwestern studios like Studio GL and A Touch of Santa Fe.
The Names in Our Cases
The artists behind the silver
A signature on the back of a cuff means someone stands behind it. These are a few of the names you’ll find in our cases — artists and studios whose work we’re proud to carry.
- Calvin Begay — Navajo jewelry designer, known for precise, finely cut stone inlay.
- Effie Calavaza — Zuni silversmith, celebrated for her signature snake designs.
- Dickie & Amy Quandelacy — Zuni artists from one of the pueblo’s most celebrated carving families.
- Studio GL — contemporary Southwestern studio work.
- A Touch of Santa Fe — Southwestern designs in the Santa Fe tradition.
The cases change as pieces sell and new work comes in. If you’re hunting a particular name, call us at (480) 425-9944 and we’ll tell you exactly what’s in the store today.
Beyond the Cases
More than jewelry
Sunrise has always been a gallery as much as a jewelry store. Past the silver and stone you’ll find kachina dolls, bolo ties, belt buckles, sculpture, vases, and metal art — pieces that carry the Southwest into a home the way a cuff carries it onto a wrist.
Ask us for a favorite when you visit — the honest answer changes with whatever just came in.
Our Word
Our promise
Authenticity isn’t a marketing word to us. It’s the whole business. When we say a piece is Native American made, it is. When we tell you what a stone is, that’s what it is. We stand behind every piece we sell with a 7-day money-back guarantee — because after three decades, our name is worth more to us than any single sale.
Love it, or send it back. If a piece isn’t right once it’s in your hands, return it within 7 days for a full refund.
