Frederic Remington ‘Cowboy’ Bronze Sculpture

Frederic Remington’s the “Cowboy” is a masterful vision of craftsmanship and understanding of Western themes. It is Remington’s single monumental sculpture. The original, twice life-size, was commissioned for Fairmount Park, by the Fairmount Park Art Association in Philadelphia where it still resides. Poised to confront, equipped to defend, turning from his saddle and contemplating with a brusque star, the Cowboy is the quintessential essence of Remington’s life work.

This statue is reproduced in the purest American bronze, cast by the superior lost wax process, finished in a bronze patina like the original and then hand-rubbed to bring out detail and highlights. The statue is then mounted on a fine marble base with an etched brass name plate. Remington’s signature is on the bronze. The incredible detail of this sculpture is a Remington master works.
