Two eagle dancers—one large, one small—spread their wings together from a single carved base in this wood kachina by Milton Howard of Tuba City, Arizona. Each figure is finely detailed, from the feather-tipped wings and painted headdress plumes down to the kilt, sash, and tiny bells at the knees.
The larger eagle stands 12 inches from the base and its companion 7 inches, so the pair reads as one scene rather than two separate dolls.
